Some Sequences May Change

I frequently 'tinker' with my earlier sequences to correct errors or to improve upon mediocre arrangements. What this means is that if you download the zip files of these tunes you will sometimes encounter newer versions of earlier sequences, quite often smaller in size. Do not be alarmed. These are improved versions! Simply allow the older files to be overwritten.

Traditional Tunes in the Public Domain

I have focused on sequencing traditional tunes that are in the public domain. There are two exceptions. The first is "Flower of Scotland", a tune written by the late Roy Williamson of The Corries. Through its phenomenal popularity, this tune has been adopted by Scots worldwide as the unofficial national anthem of Scotland.

The second tune is Wade Hemsworth's Canadian classic "The Log Drivers' Waltz". To include this in my midi collection I have taken all the appropriate administrative steps to comply with Canadian copyright regulations.

Speed and Functionality

This web site will never win an award for looks. It is designed for pure functionality and speed. By eliminating graphics, page counters, background music, frames and tables, users are able to load and navigate the tunebook pages quickly... very quickly. The midi files themselves are never more than a single click away. Zip files of each collection are conveniently located at the top of each collection page. Finally, within those zip files are menus which you can use off-line to play tunes, sing along with and print lyrics from the tunebook on your own hard drive.
