During one of Sailor Moon's first battles with the evil forces of the negaverse, she finds herself fighting an evil robot. The problem is that the robot is really an ordinary person who has been transformed into the evil robot by one of the warriors from the negaverse. Luna, Sailor Moon's cat from the old Moon Kingdom, knows that Sailor Moon can not destroy the robot since that would mean the loss of the person. At the critical time Luna makes the Crescent Moon Wand appear. Following Luna's instructions, Sailor Moon used Moon Healing Escalation to turn the robot back into the normal person they were to begin with. This turns out to be a strict rule that Sailor Moon insists that all of the Sailor Scouts follow. That is, destroying an enemy is the last possible resort. Many times Sailor Moon is successful in healing an enemy or convincing them that they are on the wrong side. To appreciate the full measure of this you must watch all 200 episodes and preferably the original Japanese version.

The wand in this picture appears with the Silver Millennium Crystal in place. The crystal is not with the wand when Sailor Moon first uses it. The Silver Crystal does not appear until several episodes later when the battle with the negaverse is drawing to a close and she needs the crystal to help her defeat the negaverse's most powerful warriors and the evil queen of the negaverse.
