This scene is inside Fort Niagara about halfway between the main gate and the Lake Ontario shore. The tower on the left (South Redoubt) was built in 1770 by the British to protect the gate against attack. The main gate is just beyond the tower. The long building is the Provisions Storehouse; the British built it in 1762. The building on the right is the Powder Magazine, built by the French in 1757, it survived the siege of 1759.
